The Motif XF has been expanded with the FW16E (firewire audio/MIDI option) which allows me to use the XF as the audio interface. The A/D INPUT PART is a stereo channel within the Motif XF - with its own audio channel with access to the System Effects, same as every internal XF PART. The Left/Right outputs of the Tyros are connected to the A/D INPUT channel of the Motif XF. In my studio the XF is my audio interface (I use it to connect to my computer and I use it to connect audio to my MSP7 Studio Monitors). You are able to take incoming audio and MIDI signal and route it on to your computer DAW. The Motif XF has a built-in Mixer (certainly as good as a small stereo mixer you might purchase, if you think you need one) and it can act as both a MIDI and Audio Interface for your studio. Since I have a Tyros here and a Motif XF hooked up in my home studio, (and I used none of the above options) perhaps I can offer yet another. If you limit your thinking to three options, then that is all you will see.
